Why A Colon Cleanse?

Why A Colon Cleanse

A number of symptoms ranging from headache and fatigue to loss of appetite and emotional problems have been attributed to potential build-up of toxins within the body. The colon (and entire intestinal tract really) is prime real estate for this type of build-up. Most colon cleansing products focus on evacuating everything from your bowels leaving your colon as shiny and new as it was when you first got it.

Is A Colon Cleanse Really Necessary?

Now, here is the golden question. As with almost any alternative medical treatment, there is next to no “Scientific” proof that a colon cleanse is actually beneficial. Does that mean it doesn’t work or isn’t helpful? Not necessarily. What it does mean, as with every other option out there, is that you need to try it yourself and decide if it works for your body.

Thousands and thousands of proponents claim that colon cleansing has helped to improve their health. Of course there are the detractors that claim the risks outweigh the benefits, but that is why I always suggest trying it for yourself. Know the risks and test it. If it works for you, run with it. If not, try something else.

What Are the Risks?

As with almost anything you put into your body, there are potential risks. Most of the risks associated with a colon cleanse are from repeated uses and overuse, but consulting a doctor first is always advised with stuff like this. Most of these risks are associated with direct methods of colon irrigation (enemas).

If you are taking any type of colon cleanse capsules or pills, watch your water intake and make sure that you aren’t getting dehydrated and you shouldn’t have a problem.

Well, that is basically the gist of it. If you are careful to do your research and try it out in moderation, there is no reason that a colon cleanse can’t be a healthy addition to your balanced diet and exercise in bringing you one step closer to your healthier self.
